Cody and Mr. Porcupine...why me!
Ok So why is it that my horses like to make friends with the local porcupines and not the other horses? Is it because I have introduced them to many "scary" things that now they are not afraid of anything or are they just plain stupid or is it the "inquiring minds want to know" syndrome? Whatever it is, I hope that they both have learned their lessons and that this will never happen again. However, I have to admit this ordeal really showed me how patient and understanding Cody really is. Unlike his mom (Cheyenne), who proceeded to be so uncooperative during a similar incident that we had to have her sedated, Cody was great considering he had a nose full of quills. He truly understood that he needed to cooperate in order for us to relieve him of this uncomfortable situation. I could not have ask for a better horse. Oh don't get me wrong he still has the capabilities to act his age in certain circumstances however overall, he is growing up into a great companion and I can't wait to hit the trails with him. In the meantime, I will enjoy the summer riding into the sunset with his mom, Cheyenne.
